Candidacy for New Cult Canon
Also my favorite 80's movie. I consider this film to be the movie most sadly lacking a special edition DVD. If Monster Squad can get the special edition treatment, why can't Real Genius?

"The Bronson Pinchot Explosion" is my new favorite band name.
The Dark Deadline
"I wrote it, babyface."
All serial killers are murderers, but not all murderers are serial killers. Of all the dozens of people Dexter has offed, the ratio of actual serial killers to regular murderers does lean heavily toward the latter.
Never Meant
I'm still holding out for an American Football reunion album. Owen is great, and I'll buy anything Mike does, but please - somebody get that guy a rhythm section and some electric guitars.
My apologies to Vyvian. I meant punk more as shorthand for "punkass" and not so much "punk rocker." Although the man's fashion sense was clearly punk in style.
1.) Vyvian is a fictional character who is frustrated by boredom; he does not hate an external thing because it is boring. In fact, he actually hates himself for being bored. Because he's a violent punk.
Chico, no one hates anything because it's boring. If something is boring, one simply has no use for it. To hate requires energy, and very often that energy is fueled by misunderstanding (and jealousy I'd wager). And what's wrong with a wank every now and again? As Woody Allen says, "it's sex with someone you love."
God forbid anyone should have fun with a guitar solo? What? Someone is playing high-energy rock with lots of notes? Satriani must be stopped!
Savage Steve
Here's hoping Savage Steve Holland's new movie "Ratko: The Dictator's Son" goes as well as Bobcat's movie seems to be going.
MARTY
Supposedly Rod Steiger's "Marty" was even better than the film version starring Ernest Borgnine, which won Ernie an Academy Award. As I recall, Burt Lancaster's production company set up the movie version as a tax write off but it ended up being a big success.
