Bringing up the fascistic kid wish fulfillment, it's no wonder that at the screening I attended, a young boy gave the marketing rep literally two thumbs up when asked for his opinion of the movie. I had to tell the rep a much different opinion. This rating of a C is too kind.

Thanks for that article.

There were so many rappers, I thought Big Chris, Yung Bitch and all their crew were gonna crawl up to the table to try to drop some verses…

Bon Appeit was embarrassingly horrid.

Australian?

Strange how this show is like an exclusive party at times. If it wasn't for for entertainment news reports, I wouldn't have heard about Moynihan leaving…and I only found out about Bayer here. Then, the Brad Grey tribute, only explained by this review too.

It feels as though they are attempting to seal a coffin on Mc Carthy's Spicer appearances with that sketch ("If you kiss me I'll never be seen again?!"), simple Godfather allusion notwithstanding.

It's Snatch in bodkins and armor.

The one, two, three punch of the Carmen San Diego parody, the Slav peace song, and the surveillance cops was a totally weird yet wonderful bunch of scenes. Bless them for that.

And Kurt Russell was in Tarantino's segment… Seems like a phone call and session of brewskis is all it would take to get Russell to join in this reboot.

You are correct sir. It is a tale of tales, in some ways a modern Decameron.

Readers know that NYC is a huge impact in the stories, but not THAT way. (Even 9/11 is an afterthought in the books)

I knew the thing was gonna go south as soon as Day laid on the mat…but I was thinking it was going to be a lot worse.

Uncomfortably sublime. The audience was nervously tittering at that one.

I like Death simply being there and not doing much of anything…that says a lot more. Lends an air of absurdity that snl should do more often.

It's no less foolhardy as having Aykroyd play Nixon while sporting a moustache.

Hugh Jackman.

i love it too, but Three movies (1980, 2000 on Tv, and 2015) is enough!

Into The Woods, with the orginal cast featuring Bernadette Peters, has been available on video for quite some time.

I see your point but these musical prsentations (going all the way back to Peter Pan on NBC with Mary Martin in the 50s[?]) have never been about a live staging—-it's always been seen as an Event For Television.
