You and me agreed, sir. He wasn't as good as Ian Gillian

And a whole fucking lot shorter. PotC did absolutely nothing for me as a message of hope, it was a horror show.

"On the nose"…oi vey.

I have to agree the movie is dopey in many aspects. The disco crucifixes, yuck. The lepers scene. The hipster music video editing. . Barry Denham(?) doesn't emote as well as he did on the album. I never understood why Josh Mostel got the plum role of Herod.

It's has got some credit, God knows. Godspeed You!Black Emporer sampled "By My Side" on one of their tracks.

There's a passage of music in JatTDC that is also notefornote in JCS. a bit of symmetry there.

A late 80s local production I saw modeled Herod as Colonel Khadaffi (which got a big laugh).

Zefferelli's movie is absolutely the best of its lot.

It certainly does rock….and the production sucks, too, but in a good way.

Godspell is to JCS as Harvest is to any Deep Purple album of that era. Just depends on your overall mood. The songs in Godspell are good, really. Some may just get turned off by the cartooniness of the parables prsented as the bulk of the show. The most emotional moment of the Godspell movie, unfortunately, is the

Sidenote: The Monkees was the only band Weird Al agreed to open for after his self imposed ban on being an opener. (Too much bad crowd reaction)

Gonna Buy Me A Dog is the winner for giggles for me, particularly when Davey starts chanting Napoleon XIV's "Theye Coming to Take Me Away" during the fadeout.

It seems like someone turnd off the venue Mike so there was no applause, then it came back in towards the end, which was also awkward. One interesting aspect was that the names seem to be random; but no Joan Rivers seemed a bit unfair, despite her small contribution to cinema.

They shoulda got Gaga for that show, not Carrie Underwood. Amiright?

Unabashedly a fan of this movie, but why is this going on?

That slays me that the AAMPAS pres is an African American woman.

The academy is on the horn to Poehler and Fey's agents RIGHT NOW.

His jokes are getting Snowed-in.

At least he was showing as much enthusiasm for movies as the opening production number did.

You are probably gonna beat NPH.
