I'd like to apologize to everyone who lives in the northeast. I had no idea that this is how God would answer my prayers to not have to fill in for Pilot on tonight's 2 Broke Girls. Depeche Mode was right: He really does have a sick sense of humor.

Also, this will feel just as weird and surreal as when My Name Is Earl did those Earl-in-a-coma episodes where his life was a studio-audience sitcom…and, like those episodes, the joke will start as mildly ha-ha funny and then, by the following week, will just piss viewers off.

I cannot help but notice that there is not a single quote from nor even so much as a reference to anyone who is involved in the show on a day-to-day basis being excited and/or optimistic about this new direction, only a quote from Smilin' Bob Greenblatt about how "this was an idea we and (exec producer Lorne Michaels)…

I'm sold. I've been psyched about this since I heard the words "Bryan Fuller," and adding Eddie Izzard cinched the deal so securely that even casting Jerry O'Connell as Herman couldn't make me turn back.

I was so excited the other day when I read my daughter her first Encyclopedia Brown story…and she immediately wanted to hear another one, and then another one after that. She's very much a kid of her own tastes, so I never know what stuff from my childhood is going to grab her, so this felt like a major victory.
