Not all the time, anyway. There definitely are examples of it - the most blatant I can think of are the end of To The Death, where a bunch of Jem Hadar get schooled in hand-to-hand combat, and The Siege of AR-558, where no stray bullets hit our major characters.

I think the others play it just fine. The Craig Bond is supposed to be younger and hasn't tilted into full-on sociopathy as a result of his various traumas, whereas Roger Moore, for instance, is so far gone that he's basically in perma-smirk mode.

I would argue that's exactly what Trek needed, and needs on the big screen in general. Trek is a franchise designed for the small screen - 99% of the time, it's ideas and talk, not action. But that 1% of the time when they decide to go for broke is usually something really special, like we're seeing this week. Movies
