I think The Affair will get another season for (debatable) prestige reasons. Showtime can lie to themselves that a .15 is good enough.

Shameless is fine ratings wise though a similar drop next season would be inadvisable. The larger issues is if the budget gets tough or actors get tired of it.
I agree. Keeping Mon El as a playboy a bit longer would've had the added benefit of keeping Kara single for longer. It would've undercut people's concerns about moving to the CW (and romance) and the switch from Mechad Brooks to Chris Wood.
That's not the worst part. Her other son is on a CBS sitcom.
I mean, it's hard to argue against what happened. But it was plausible that there was a vote coming in from Milwaukee, Philly, Detroit, etc. to save her. He only won those states by what 110k total.
The Election Special was amazing. I can't compare it to many things I've seen on TV.
Felt all the performances were strong (although despite years of older than teenagers actors, I was waiting for Hayden Szeto's character to reveal a wife and two kids) and there was a distinct voice separating it from the traditional teen comedy. I also enjoy that almost every character gets treated sympathetically…
Live sports sucks up so many male eyeballs. It's even more true for TV.
I think Moffat and Day could do "Handsome Guy" but you raise a good point.
To quote my grandfather at a Chicago Club regarding the portraits on the wall: "These are the same bastards from the Harvard Club."
There should've been enough evidence that Simmons was not right for TV so HBO didn't even try this.
Given Quantico's ratings, I think she will be soon.
Overall, I like Shameless, but if your question is "do the writers know/care how X works?" The answer will always be an emphatic No.
You know we're in Season 7 now that Lip's in a hacking plot.
A clear sign of lack of confidence is "This Season…" previews.
If there are two storylines all of Dolores's storyline is for naught, which is frustrating because that's been the most interesting arc.
I know that he played college football, but it strikes me as odd to cast Joel McHale as a Bear Grylls type.
Now that traditional Rock is probably at its lowest ebb since it's founding, a musical claiming it's a passing fad will seem slightly less preposterous.
Black Mirror must bring out the contrarian in me. I loved the premise and the world building. But I found the salt of the Earth trucker corny, and the wedding speech meltdown cliché.
I liked this episode more than most, even if I agree that holding off the twist caused plausibility problems in the middle.
