Looking at the two of them side by side really showcases the differences. The original was unsettling and called attention to itself by not demanding attention. It was just there, always. This one is about as in your face as it gets. The moon is a face instead of a face being on the moon. It's bugging me a lot more

Nice! I was looking at Bluray comparisons and wasn't sure how I felt since the colors seemed to be very different, which is the most hypocritical thing ever since I have a tendency to "fix" sun damaged images at work. (I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before, but I digitally restore images from the Ford and

Avatar season 1 lays the groundwork for what the show will become. It doesn't get amazing until midway through Season 2, but once it does everything clicks into place in a very magical way. Still, I'm thinking you're not a huge action person so that could get in the way. I agree that Korra season 1 was great, but my

Yeah, I very rarely respond to things that are written for a male audience. It's fine if a show slants to appealing to men as long as the story is written to, well, best serve itself. But if things are changed solely to make way for men to be more comfortable or get excited, I tend to zone out and lose interest.

It was an incredibly collaborative show and it was because it was filmed in Australia. They say on the commentaries more than a few times that in the industry there, no one is above anyone else. Everyone is expected to work on the project to the best of their capabilities and anyone who gets an ego gets shoved out.

I knew of the books, but only read them after seeing the film. The visuals and score were indeed fantastic. Seeing it first allowed me to separate the two, though I read the series with the visuals in mind and it only enhanced my enjoyment.

And finally a little mini batch:

On screen: kinky scene between Scorpius and Sikozu.

I'm just going to be posting things from the commentary that I find interesting.

On any other show, getting hitched and having a child would provide drama and weight to characters that were slowly losing a reason to exist. Here, it's a relief from all of that. As the final moments show, nothing will change from it, therefore it's more symbolic than anything else. And god, that final image is

(Also haven't seen the finale, yet, so I might comment on that tomorrow when it's fresher in my mind.)

There are things I want to respond to, but I think I'll wait until Peacekeeper Wars is over. Mainly the Scorpius, Braca, Sikozu thing. Also please remember your response to Sikozu's introduction in PKW, as it always gets the best response out of people.

    :) :) :)

Ugh, you're right. It's only "Save" which means it'll likely never show up. My roommate paid a lot of money for it so I can't see Netflix shelling that out. I think it might only be available on Blu-Ray, too.

I swore I saw rebellion on disc. If not, I'm definitely sure it's online somewhere. And I'm glad you have the right mindset going in. All I'll say is that I don't hate it.

Those are very pretty butterfly gummies.

Well, I was recommended it by a coworker, so I was partially watching to have something to talk about with them. Therefore I went in prepared to view the show in a positive way. However, I ended up laughing through the majority of the first episode as the drama and philosophical asides coupled with how they were

I started watching Attack on Titan yesterday, and ended up watching 14 of its 25 (so far) episodes. What really stuck out to me was how the show played with time through multi-episode arcs. For example, the first two episodes each have the suffix part 1 and part 2. However, during part 2, halfway through the episode

Haha, I noticed your error after I posted and didn't want to take away from the innocence (? I can't find the right word) your post showed.

    Such a subtle episode title.
