Oh, @avclub-c1fe85b855c6d045b827f74a1e2c3fd7:disqus , I've always loved your posts. But when you said  "Like Ernie and Bert" now I want to (fuck, he's a muppet, gotta keep it PG) bake you toll house cookies …

That's a pretty good fanwank, @avclub-749a8e6c231831ef7756db230b4359c8:disqus , and I think I'll incorporate it into my personal Trek canon.

@avclub-19b1e8d29a0f4d71a95a48a7123d0502:disqus , that might be because, for the people you meet in real life (whatever that is), VOY is a more accessible show than DS9.

Yeah, I was going to make some snarky comment like, "Remember how the Dominion value the Vorta for their telekinetic powers? That's okay, neither did the DS9 writers' room."

Just finished Babylon Squared, waiting for the next disc. (I'm renting them on zip.ca, which is kind of the Canadian equivalent of  Netflix-That-Was, a DVD-by-mail service.)

Re: expository dialogue. I spent the first 10 or 12 episodes referring to the show as "Babylon-and-on 5" — I'm not sure it's improved much in the back half of the first season, but maybe I'm just used to it now.

Hey, no problem, @avclub-fd172dda9796767557675385e915cab4:disqus  — I'm not really spoiler-averse. Show's been around for what, 20 years now? I've never seen it before, but I've picked up an awful lot of future developments through sheer cultural osmosis.

Be of good cheer, @avclub-13d7df3c17502af69aafccc758195f96:disqus . If Ace Rimmer taught us anything, it's that sometimes those of us in the non-sexy universe get called to replace the sexy version.
