I'm one of the drunk ones!

Maybe it's just me, but I wish we could occasionally read Sean O'Neal's position on an issue rather than his usual dry recitation of the facts.

For ~30 seconds, I misunderstood "The Office is allegedly considering a dramatic reboot" as "The Office is allegedly considering rebooting as a drama." Which, at least based on the current season, would be the most depressing, poorly plotted drama ever.

Dave Thrush! My new favorite AV Club comment-section celebrity cameo!

If your husband isn't named George Frankly, I'm gonna be sorely disappointed.

That explains a lot, Harbinger. Thanks for helping those of us who haven't read the book.

He said in an interview a few years ago, and I'm going by memory, that he's not happy with the tone the song takes w/r/t gays and that having gay friends has…it hasn't changed his opinion entirely, but mellowed seems like about right.

For me, the first half of the film has two competing tableaus that never really mesh: a straightforward story of a young man losing his faith, and "Portlandia (College Edition)." Once Taylor finally gives us a scenario that both interlocks the two agendas and shifts narrative directions slightly (to stay spoiler-free,

Whit Stillman's Barcelona had an outwardly Christian character, but it was (mostly) tertiary to the story.

Chagall Guevara and Squint are still awesome, awesome records. A lot of what Taylor did before CG hasn't aged well musically (and I'd rather be cast off of one than listen to "Lifeboat" again), but no one was doing lyrically in Christian music the '80s what Steve Taylor was: biting, sarcastic, satiric, and critical of

Not to burst your bubble too much, but if there's one consensus line about the film I've seen in a few reviews, it's the not-Christian-enough-for-Christians-and-vice-versa one you said. Doesn't not make it true, though.

    Stealth seven-year-old firstie!

I've spent too much of today trying to verify that $10,000 anecdote with no success; the only mentions I can find refer back to that Wikipedia article. Also, SAG minimum for a film budgeted over $2.5 million is ~$3000/week ($1750/week under that), and Levy almost would have to have been on the film longer than a week

I was going to disagree with you, but then I read this on Wikipedia: "In 2002, following the success of the American Pie film series, Levy signed a contract to make an additional three American Pie movies for a combined ten thousand dollars, forgoing an originally large, six figures [sic] salary. The decision was

    Chart synopsis:

David SIMON is about as annoying as SIMON Helberg's character in "Big Bang Theory."

ABC's top scripted shows in the 18-49 demo:

    They do. It's called "Community."

Noooooooo!!!!! Please please save this show!!!!!!

I can understand why someone wouldn't like Brooke Smith in this, but to me it's one of the best four or five performances of the entire decade. I rarely remember an character breaking my heart so much. She's fantastic in Series 7 as well, although the TV roles she's had have misused her greatly. (Portraying someone
