I sort of thought that was the case, but it's been so long since I've seen the show (and not always in order) that it was more supposition than a well-thought-out conclusion.

It's not completely accidental. "Mahna Mahna" was something that Henson had being doing for years in various forms, so he knew in advance it was a killer sketch.
Mahna mahna.
The first episodes are…weird. It's really not until the second season where the show really started to get into form.
Mahna mahna.
So who's going to be that first obnoxious person to joke about how expendable that stunt man was?
It's a gender he writes extremely well if the story calls for it.
ARE YOU INSANE?!?!? THERE IS NO WAY THIS WAS BETTER THAN [episode of "Community" or "Louie" or "Parks & Rec" that the AV Club gave a B+ to]!!!! COME ON, YOU [uncomplimentary adjective] [uncomplimentary plural noun]!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ha ha! An out-of-context picture of someone whose views I disagree with has been posted on the Internet! Hilarity has ensued!
Elliot isn't one of the stronger current SNL members, but she's pretty good in the straight-man roles. She doesn't usually overplay her parts, and she makes a good angry face. I can't think of anything Wilson did at all well on SNL, which is part of why she's such a revelation in "Happy Endings."
Let's not be too revisionist here. Casey Wilson was horribly horrible on SNL. Simply dreadful. And while some of that was the show's fault, the majority of that has to fall on her shoulders. In roles she should have been at minimum okay in, she sucked.
All Whit Stillman films are, by definition, A+++++++s. So you both must actually have seen the film Daffodils in Da Grass by Walt Stallman.
Maybe he can start drawing "Calvin & Hobbes" and Bill Watterson can start making $100-million films! Now everyone's happy!
Oh my. I assumed I would be the only one immediately thought of "A Film By Kirk."
I think, Donna, that you're parenthetically spot on about reviewing AD. Through no fault of his own, there's not much Noel can do with some of those episodes except synopsize and quote (though quite a few episodes still have some top-notch analysis). It's like reviewing the sun.
The Dardenne Bros. Not a film less than great from LA PROMESSE through LORNA'S SILENCE.
If you're willing to tell.
How are the AVClub hits doing for season 5 v. previous seasons on "NewsRadio"? Commentwise, it really seems to have trailed off this season, and to be honest, I wasn't sure I was going to continue with it past the first couple episodes—not due to Donna's writeups, of course, but due to it…
Lane in "Gilmore Girls." Maybe Harriet in "Studio 60," although that character is handled in sort of "look! here's a Christian!" sort of way.
Winnie the Pooh was a car thief.
Jerry's fault! Jerry's fault!
