"Hey, I'm arguing one less dictatorship in the world is a good thing."
Your comment reminds me of why I hate "thinkpieces" (and would be happy if that term went away). Because by and large it seems the basis for writing one is not necessarily whether the thought you had has any validity or is supported by the text: Just the fact that you had the thought at all is good enough.
Maybe we should have fixed things at home instead of ginning up phony evidence to support The Project for a New American Century's pet crusade.
It's funny how you have to immediately jump to "Messiah" to make your point have any kind of standing. Strawman more.
You could probably make a pretty damn good satire of the Iraq War just by using actual footage of the media coverage of the leadup.
I thought 7th was by and large better than 5/6 and maybe even 4, FWIW.

Since the ventriloquist wars ended, I've been watching a lot more TV!
Yes, but you're not Sean.
Truly, he is Entertainment 4 Every 1.
When NewsRadio was airing, Jimmy was my role model, but I related a lot more to Bill.
"Here's a life lesson for YOU, Coach: pot is the only thing keeping me from killing myself just to get out of this West Texas shithole. Two more years, then college in Austin, here I come."

The kids today know what records are, they're what you buy if you want a permanent copy of an album instead of just a digital download. I don't know if they'll be familiar with these "CDs," though.
Rust Cohle! Just kidding. Reading this topic did remind me of all the mentions the writer made of "old-school masculinity" when talking about True Detective, because while I don't believe either of those guys should be anyone's role models, the point being made here applies, that you don't really see depictions of the…
