This was the first episode I ever saw of Deadwood— in fact, I didn't even see the whole thing, pretty much tuning in right as Flora was trying to get away with the theft and stabs Cy. It was… a while before I watched the show again.
And yet, both songs, despite being terrible out of context, work quite well as the theme songs to their respective shows.
Ugh, yeah, those were the moments in the movie that made me say "Oh, right, I'm watching a movie based on a TV show with a certain mandate to appeal to teen girls."
