I don't think "Circle of Life" is the best Disney song of them all, but that sequence in the (otherwise okay) Lion King is maybe the best sequence in any Disney movie. Maybe also one of the best opening scenes of all time.

Since the HoF has taken an expansive view of Rock and Roll anyway, why don't people seem outraged that Willie and Dolly aren't in there? They're as close to "rock" as ABBA and Madonna are (if rock = songs on top 40 radio).

The only way the West Side Story movie could have worked in 1961 was the way they did it. You try realism and you get hemmed in by the Hays Code, which would probably have made the movie seem more unrealistic and dated.
