Jonah managing to bang his head on the ceiling while pounding the seat of his chair in frustration was a gift of pure physical comedy that I didn't know this show was missing.

It's an oasis for straight and bi and trans and ace viewers too.

I'm very sure. I'm like 300 pages into a reread right now :D

Ad hominem attacks are a good way for no one to take anything else you say seriously.

I mean, it doesn't need to be. This was never going to be a 100% adaptation. We'll see though.

He for sure had two different grills, just like he had two different hairstyles.

I have to disagree on the point of "distancing and diminishing Bilquis" and "sidelining Ibis and Jacquel." The former is slowly building into more than she ever got to be in the novel, while the latter are inherently characters who exist at the margins, despite being gods.

I can only assume Terriers is the show that caused you to mention (multi-season)

Media knocked out his teeth, and it was Easter. Did you really expect him not to have a Faberge egg grill?

In fairness, he is more prominent in the parts of the book that the TV series hasn't gotten to yet.

All things in due time, my boy.

Spoiler tag the second of those.

Does anyone know where they shot the temple/museum scenes? Also where they shot Easter's party. Those were both fantastic locations.

For the first time in my life, I can say that Easter was worth the wait.

Please list all 3 or 4.

Even more than that: They're kind of self-named.

But is he going to be White Jesuit-style Jesus, Black African Jesus, Mexican Jesus or swarthy Greek Jesus?

I had been wondering how they would do that story until tonight. Now I have total faith in them doing it well.

It doesn't happen that early. It's like, Chapter 13.

I wouldn't expect Bilquis to get much going for a while yet. She's so ancillary in the book, and not until much later, even, that I think she's going to be a very slow burn in the series, as far as character development goes.
