The botched execution was a significant moment in the book. Theon was trying to play the harsh Lord of Winterfell, but was clearly not cut out for it (pun emerged accidentally, was kept intentionally). It was a pretty good way to establish him as the kind of pathetic villain that he was.
And what is Danyraes? Derrick Rose, but she can't find her way off the DL to lead her house back to the throne?
