Yeah, the flaying was a dead giveaway. But I realized that I had for some reason always visualized Roose as fat.

This was a comment about the peach but someone already commented about the peach, so I have changed it to:
The Tywin/Roose streamlining worked well to set up a nice Tyrion/Tywin parallel, with both Lannisters saving a Stark girl from someone crueler and more foolish. It rings true with the Tyrion/Tywin stuff later in the books.
Probably saves her some time. She's got a busy day I bet.
Andrew Luck is legit I think.
@avclub-7aee1b75b527e215f31e20a5c4e7a768:disqus That man you're arguing against is at least 80% straw
Man, "gross" is starting to be one of my least favorite words. She's like a normal looking girl.
She's not as petty and destructive as Cersei, but that doesn't make her not a player. She could have plenty of interest in making Tommen a good ruler. The crown is going to come from a male claimant and the stronger the king, the stronger she can be as queen. Her beef is with Cersei because she's the other major…
It's clear by ADWD that she's a player, but more subtle, less hateful and brutal than Cersei. Less petty, too, which is why she outplays her. She's not just another Cersei. She's playing the Tyrell long con.
The idea I had from the book is that Gendry got away because there was a war on and the goldcloaks weren't going that far out of their way through the contested lands at that point, especially with the Lannisters having bigger fish to fry in King's Landing. Just sort of slipped through the cracks in the war zone.
I got the idea she was subservient to Balon in the show. Everyone was subservient to Balon when he was around. That's why everyone tried to lay claim to his legacy after he was gone. His power was beyond question.
@avclub-6b8aa777ed70e7f15a45947a0f0c5986:disqus Yeah I got that too.
@avclub-1f3e9145ab192941f32098750221c602:disqus You could get that impression from the Cersei chapters, and it's never completely clear if it's happening or not. Probably it's Cersei projecting, but it's not impossible. As Cersei said "A man may prefer the taste of hippocras but will still quaff a tankard of ale…
My point was more that I can't see any Murray character standing for that bullshit. There's a certain kind of interpersonal weakness that you need for that study group to be Jeff-dominated and Murray don't got it.
Yeah that actually would have been pretty interesting. Troy's character getting pushed into being a mirror for Abed did cut down on his possibilities a lot.
It would throw off the balance so much though. McHale's sarcasm wouldn't fly with Murray in the house.
Look at his name and avatar and tell him that again.
How the fuck does Bran's story even make sense if there are no Reeds?
Yup
Yeah, it was also great how it went down. "Well, o.k. then, have it your way"
