Death doesn't mean anything to the writers. They brought back Lunch Lady Doris and I think another character that had "died". They're desperate enough to do anything now.

I think he admitted on one of the commentaries that his character on "Less Than Perfect" was basically Matthew 2.0. I wouldn't be surprised if he's deliberately playing against that type now.
