It seems like we're going back to the Seinfeld mantra, which I think has its good and bad points.

It's especially weird when you realize that the Golden Globe is probably the least important award for film, but their TV choices have been steeping up recently.

That is one thing which especially bugged me. Is Robin going to just stop traveling for work so she can be with Ted? Because I cannot see any way that Ted would react any differently to having his wife be all over the world, whether or not he's with her.

From what I understand, they did shoot more scenes beyond the very end, including one where Lily pays Marshall off, because he right. There was even a promotional still of Ted and Robin sitting at a restaurant with their 2030 hair which didn't make it into the final episode.

Actually, I think Tracy forgot to give Chris R his fucking money.

I can't help but wonder how the show would have turned out if CBS pulled a Showtime and wouldn't let Thomas and Bays kill Tracy. I severely doubt that they would've had her and Ted divorce, so it would be fascinating to see what route they'd go through instead.

Truth be told? I just watched "Tick, Tick, Tick", and I still enjoy it about the same. I'd have taken out the last time that Marshall and Ted mistook the women's restroom for the nacho stand, but I still got pretty much the same amount of enjoyment from the episode as I did the last time, even considering the finale.

Say what you will about Donna, but at least she didn't give the finale a 9.7 out of 10 like IGN did.

Even with the finale in tow, I've always maintained that HIMYM was CBS' good comedy.

Mediocre is not the word I would use, but even as a major step up from last season, Community is missing something without Troy.

Yep.

in regards to how people still compare HIMYM to Friends, may I just remind people that when Friends started, many did consider it to be just another Seinfeld clone on NBC's Thursday night line up? Maybe a more clever one than most, but that's still the attitude most critics and many viewers took from the show. I think

I lucked out when I went to a group showing of the 50th, since there were few teenage Superwholock nerds, but surprisingly a decent range of families, people who watched the show since Baker or even Pertwee's day, and older viewers who don't shove the show down your throat.

I remember seeing Cronenberg's name on a shortlist for potential Catching Fire directors. That would have been a very different movie.

Hannibal surpassed the Superwholock fans, which definitely gives it an edge.

Pre-finale retrospectives don't really seem to be a thing anymore, but I do wish there was going to be one for HIMYM. The marketing for the finale has been crazy strong, so it does seem like CBS is expecting big numbers for it, yet they're not doing anything special for the night beyond airing a random pilot to some

Yeah, it's rule #1 for ASOIAF fans to not spoil the book for show watchers.

Eh, this is nothing compared to the comments for Sepinwall's recaps for the show.

But how many of these are lead actors? I know that Barney usurped Ted as the most popular character since what, episode 1, but Ted IS still the main character of HIMYM.

I've always felt that the show deserves more recognition during awards season, honestly.
