I'm not a huge Harry Potter fan at all, but I love Nick Cave and the way they used the song was really well done and tasteful. I'd be more annoyed at the "People Ain't No Good" in Shrek. But, honestly, fuck it. Cave's never been as big in the US as in Europe and if a few people liked the song and he made a few (well

Accurate statement.

They made so much money on that Warners contract they really don't need to do it for the money. I really want to believe they will just stay broken up, they went out with dignity, no need to risk fucking that up.

Babe, I'm on Fire makes that album worth it. Also, Dead Man in My Bed and Bring it On are decent.

I started with a mix tape from a friend, but Murder Ballads is the one I recommend as a starting point to others.

Some of that old stuff, like the Dead Letter Office stuff was pretty good, but, everything from the last 20 years was terrible. I'm thinking like the Automatic Box onward.

I don't think Peter ever stopped touring with his various side projects, regardless of R.E.M.'s album/tour schedule.

I bumped into Peter Buck on the street in Nashville once, a few hours before seeing them play the Ryman. I didn't want to be "that guy" and ask for a song, but I kind of regret not asking him to play it.

I was only moments ago lamenting to a friend that despite seeing six shows, I never heard Country Feedback live.

Part of me really wants to believe that this will result in the release of some archival material, but their b-sides and what not have always been notoriously awful. Here's to hoping they were holding the good stuff back.

I got the news at Chic Fil A. I don't know if I can ever go back there now.

No contest: Country Feedback.

I kind of wish they had gone out on Accelerate. That was such a great resurgence after two really lackluster albums. It was a solid, hard hitting album followed by a pretty great tour. Collapse Into Now is serviceable, but really nothing memorable at all.

This has to be one of the most confusing breakup/reunions ever.

You go ahead…

It's kind of a bummer they aren't that into playing more shows and recording. They could probably do a solid club tour and people would come out. I would love to see them.

Wasn't there a story awhile back about Oswalt and Cross having a misunderstanding about a joke Oswalt made about the Chipmunks movie?
