I used to work housekeeping at a resort and that never, ever happened to me. Goddamn it.

That's pretty accurate, yes. Standard for the Liberal Party of Canada: run to the left, govern from the right.

It's so hilarious it was a line in a Judd Apatow film.

I got the impression he is less pro-Soviet than anti-American, but reading the review makes me think I got that wrong. Either way, he is a potentially volatile character for sure, possibly the most volatile since the colonel in… S3, was it?

Hair can change thickness as you get older, and pregnancy can affect it too. Also, spend enough time straightening and colouring it and eventually it won't just bounce back. Nicole Kidman spent 20+ years bleaching and straightening her (gorgeous, enviable) curly red hair and now she's stuck with the straw-like mop

That to me was the interesting part: how much Elizabeth, for all her chats with Pastor Tim last season, still doesn't get this religion Paige has become a part of. Paige's blank look at "I don't care if you're having sex" said "Mom, we don't do that before marriage" to me.

Wait, what? Nina was killed in a Soviet prison. Did I miss an entire subplot where that was orchestrated by the CIA?

Because they thought it was a good bill, and were happy to own it.

The US government is officially being run by a bunch of high school students who only read Wikipedia for their book reports. Jesus.

I believe in the free market. I believe global warming is real because Al Gore's movie made money.

Also, it's kind of grossly myopic to assume any of this is about the US election. I'm sure some of it is in the US, but it's International Women's Day. It started more than 100 years ago as a labour movement. It's been recognized by the UN for more than 40 years. It's not just about one election or even just about one

Do you know why so many religious right people voted for the philanderer, the guy with 5 kids from 3 wives, the one who happily talked about assaulting women and has, I have no doubt, paid for more than one abortion in his lifetime?

Because the new health care bill wants to remove all Planned Parenthood services from Medicaid coverage unless it stops providing abortions. Trump's administration wants to deny coverage of 97% of what PP does because he (or, more specifically, Pence, Ryan, et al) disapprove of the other 3% (which it already can't

If the Republicans lose the AARP, they are fucked.

Ah okay, I misunderstood the reports I was reading yesterday. Thanks for the correction.

Okay, thanks, that's what I thought. I realize that there are some people for whom abortion is just non-negotiable and want PP defunded full stop because it provides it at all, regardless of where the money comes from, but a whole bunch of others seem to be buying a line of reasoning that's based on false premises.

I have a question about PP that hopefully you nice Americans can explain to this dumb Canuck.
