Originally, it was thought that there were two suspects, one of whom is a Muslim. That's when the tweet claiming Moroccan descent went up. When it was determined that the second man was a witness, not a suspect, there was suddenly no mention of either man's ethnic or religious background. Funny, eh?

There has indeed been speculation on that very point. Which just makes it more perfect.

It's exhausting for them, but congressional Dems need to fight it because otherwise 2018 will see a repeat of "they're all the same" from the far left who once again won't show up to vote. You'd think all this would be a lesson in the value of going with the good instead of waiting for the perfect, but I'm not seeing

As someone pointed out somewhere, if you use Obama/Merrick Garland reasoning, that means a new justice can't be confirmed until after the 2020 election.

I miss Howard Dean.

Loser gets booed until Trump's throat is sore.

How do you feel about judging clothes? So long as you don't follow them on Twitter, Go Fug Yourself and Tom & Lorenzo are mostly Trump-free.

Is anyone besides me reading "Hoots" in a stereotypical Scottish accent?

Good. I get that the Libs have to be cautious - quite aside from the whole "we depend on them for money and security" thing, one doesn't want to piss off someone with a hair trigger temper and the world's biggest army - but anything we can do to get those folks out of the detention centres they're in, we should be

There's also keeping an eye on the Electoral Reform initiative. The survey is over and done with, but I presume there will be more public consultations. I have serious doubts as to whether this will actually come to fruition - rare is the government that says "That method that got us victory? Yeah, let's change that"

I was wondering if they did, that's good to know. I tend to avoid giving to American groups because I feel like the US should be able to pay for its own issues, but it may be time to send some 70-cents-on-the-dollar dollars their way.

There's a Canadian version of the ACLU: https://ccla.org/our-missio… - I'm still reading up on them, but they're likely to be a bulwark when this shit spreads north (as it already has).

Lyft has also taken Breitbart out of its Google ad buy, while Uber has (thus far, anyway) refused to do so.

They haven't been kicked off it, they've just been moved to the section that's basically titled "If we need you, we'll call." Because that makes it so much better.

Right? Fuck that guy so hard. I didn't vote for Trudeau last time around but if I have to to defeat O'Leary (or Kellie Leitch, who actually scares me more) I will with no regrets.

Que?

He's just been made part of the NSC. In case you needed more reason to panic this evening.

I feel the same way about Conway. I don't like to go after people's looks (not least because I am myself a significantly less than perfect physical specimen), but that woman looks like a catcher's mitt mated with beef jerky.

Yeah, fair enough. On another note, is she seriously talking about running for mayor of NYC? She really ought to give up on being an elected official. She'd be such a good policy wonk or legal advisor for any number of worthy organizations, and people in those positions can have so much influence… Mrs Clinton, be Josh

It sounds absolutely terrible, but possibly less likely to end in a trade war or all-out armed insanity. Hopefully, anyway? I mean, Pence's policies are going to be implemented regardless, so long as they don't conflict with Bannon's. I know Trump himself doesn't share quite all of Pence's multiple bigotries, but I
