Blergh. That really is a shame.

Hmm. This is flying in the face of everything I know about the middle-class-and-up American voter, but I would love to think you are right.

Well, Carson wants to do just that if they betray too much political bias. Or at least defund them, which is just a slower way of doing the same thing.

Heh. I assumed that was an American version of the British "can't be arsed." My bad.

Hillary's own-goal abilities are stunning, all right.

A non-evil version of the Tea Party is exactly what's needed, yes. I think Bernie made the right choice to try to change the party from the inside, even though it didn't work this time around.

THIS I agree with. Who knows if he would've said yes - and I still think it's better to have him writing the laws than signing them. But I agree it would have been amazing to watch.

Which could have been avoided if more people showed up to vote for Hillary.

But you can't have universal healthcare without raising taxes. There's a large swath of people who hate the ACA because their premiums went up to help pay for it. You think they were going to be okay with paying more tax instead?

Socialist, yes. I don't think the non-Christian thing has really been much of a deal since Kennedy. Or, if it was, it clearly worked, since Obama is the first one to make it since then who wasn't a deeply religious man.

They might have to think for themselves and come out whether someone in the leadership asks them to or not?

Kurt Eichenwald of Newsweek says the opposition research folder on Sanders was 2 feet thick. You're not wrong that Clinton has loads of baggage, but that's not because Sanders doesn't have any.

Can you post this upthread to all the people who still think sitting at home on election day was a legitimate choice?

I doubt Medicare is going anywhere, old people vote.

Hey, you know, I'm able to believe in all kinds of things without a political party telling me to. It's not hard.

Based on all the whinging about how Hillary wasn't inspiring enough, I'd say there's a fair number of people on the left who feel the same way.

Reverse that.

You can find loads of quotes from Republicans about how good Hillary was to work with in the Senate. I don't think the precious base would have found that inspiring, somehow.

And yet, if the people who felt that way before the election had just gotten out to vote, they might have had the chance of Hillary being pushed by Sanders, Warren, et al to live up to her convention promises. Instead, they have worse than nothing.

If you wind up with something you like, take a picture of it, or several, from a few angles. Then you can take it to anyone and give them guidance as to what works.
