Madlibs was my first thought, too.

So long as the adapters aren't made by Apple, fine. If they are, they'll cost way too much for crap quality.

But the cords themselves are pieces of shit. I've had my laptop since 2009 and am on my 4th cord. And it's not like I do a huge amount of travelling with it. They have more than 2,000 one-star reviews on the Canadian Apple site. I agree the connector is a great idea, but paying $100 for a new one every 2 years is

I think they're going to start losing the creatives if they don't watch out. External storage still matters when you're working with hours and hours of video footage. Plus, that thing Microsoft released yesterday looks pretty damn sweet. I have zero need for it whatsoever and it still gave me a lady-boner just looking

That is the best news to come out of this, for sure. Those fucking magnetic cords are utter shit.

Someone on Twitter said the 'grab my musket' line was the weirdest invite to a circle jerk they'd ever seen.

Yeah, this. Were Trump not the nominee, it'd probably be better to have both houses, especially since Democratic congresses have been able to work with Republican presidents in the past. But keeping Trump (and more importantly, Pence) away from the Oval is paramount.

Hee. Well, yes. I mean, for all that she wrote romances, and wasn't married herself, Austen's pretty caustic about the whole thing: her heroines get to marry for love, but an awful lot of the secondary characters know it's a business arrangement and act accordingly.

I'm sorry you're struggling with this so much, that really sucks.

I hesitate to suggest Emma. It's Austen's best book, and plot-wise has more going on than P&P, but Emma is generally less sympathetic than Elizabeth Bennet. Some people like her better for it, some people can't stand her.

I'm not sure how it works in the U.S. but don't they have to be given a channel somehow? It's not like pirate radio where you just look for a free frequency and hope they don't catch you.

What I love about that deco style is that it's all clean, gorgeous lines but there's often something really menacing (or at least unsettling) about the images too.

I like the teaser for Episode III, with Anakin's cloak billowing up into Vader's helmet. Almost good enough to get me to see the movie (but not quite).

It's hard to get much better than Metropolis.

Well said.

Oh I wasn't. Just using it as a descriptor.

Okay, well, first of all, apologies for assuming you weren't talking about wanting a right-leaning argument when you said you didn't want a progressive one.

It would be interesting if they were in any way going to stick to the spirit of the books this time, which are way more astringent than the Julie Andrews film. But of course they won't.

I'm interested to know what you think a pro-Hillary pitch to a right-leaning person should be, beyond "She's a foreign policy hawk and Lloyd Blankfein's a big fan." Under normal circumstances, that would be enough. It's why a lot of progressives dislike her.
