I hesitate to suggest Emma. It's Austen's best book, and plot-wise has more going on than P&P, but Emma is generally less sympathetic than Elizabeth Bennet. Some people like her better for it, some people can't stand her.

What I love about that deco style is that it's all clean, gorgeous lines but there's often something really menacing (or at least unsettling) about the images too.
