Funnily enough, I agree with both you and the Colonel. Wilder's performance in the original is great, but it bears no relationship to Wonka as written and the rest of the movie is dreck. Ledger's performance in TDK is mesmerizing, but the rest of the movie is beautifully filmed crap.

Finding the sticks inside a package that I thought was going to be a brick was a fun surprise, the first time it happened. Since I use butter almost never, it made it very handy for freezing 3/4 of what I'd bought.

I think the two things may be happening simultaneously. Friends of mine were talking about how their nieces and nephews and their friends - kids around 16, 17 - are happy to cuddle and hold hands without it saying anything about who they were in love with or wanted to have sex with. This would have been a completely

So long as the cheater had safe sex, I'd tend to agree with this.

Starting to happen in the west again, thanks to a lack of affordable childcare. I know lots of grandparents who've been tasked with essentially raising their grandkids while the parents work - and these are middle class people who don't generally suffer from the common societal oppressions.

The last time I watched one of those it was once again a clip that didn't actually prove the point anyway.

The WaPo reported a couple of days ago that $2 million of income owed to Trump got redirected to his "charity" instead, presumably so that he wouldn't have to pay taxes on them. So I guess it's not a surprise that memes accusing Hillary of essentially the same thing are now showing up, that's been the M.O. for a while

You're getting him confused with the other two. He's always been the Trump troll.

I'm not much of a fan but I saw the doc about the Latin American tour a couple of weeks ago and it's actually quite fun. I had no idea, for example, that the Stones are second only to soccer as a secular religion in Argentina.

This is true, of many different service sectors here, actually.

Back in the days of landlines and paper bills, a friend of mine moved, and had to pay a fee to Bell for changing her address. The bill with said fee on it was sent to her previous address.

They spent way too much on the hockey rights a couple of years ago, and it's blowing up in their faces. So now they're cutting corners and increasing prices everywhere they can.

I do wonder how the HBO shows on Crave will be handled though. Right now you can only get HBO Go in Canada if you have the Movie Network, which means having cable. I don't see those moving to Netflix.

From what I could tell, Shomi had the better film selection, while Netflix (and Crave) had the better TV selection.

They started out by refusing to even let you know what the content was - you had to sign up for your free month to get a look at their menu. When Bell launched Crave a little while later, they didn't make that mistake. It pains me to praise Bell, but here we are.

It's the kind of thing you wish she'd learn to do more often. I understand why the immediate response is to obfuscate, but no one on the other side is going to give her a break no matter what she says, and people who are going to vote for her would probably respect her more.

Out of curiosity, where did you see this? I saw a thing on Twitter that said he spoke 62% of the time to her 38% but that seemed really off (and also produced too quickly to be accurate).

The 2008 crisis part might hurt him, but the tax thing won't. Even people who aren't part of his crazy base - just standard Republicans - would agree with the "it would have been wasted" bit. They all want to pay less tax.

She only faltered a couple of times by going on a little too long to make a point.

I'm not sure she sees the progressive wing of the party as her base, and they sure as hell don't see themselves that way. I agree she could have done better, but I'm not sure there's any move she could have made that would guarantee their support, considering the cries of "Judas!" that have been directed at Warren and
