Alan Moore & Iain M. Banks
I would love to read any of the comics referred to or books excerpted in the epilogues of each issue of The Watchmen.

Dang it! I delayed a trip to the old-timey since I thought I knew that this wouldn't be there yet.

"This is stupid. We should be fucking and drinking by now."
What, no love for The Blood of Heroes? Easily my 4th favorite Rutger Hauer movie.

"Nary a beast alive…
…can outrun a greased Scotsman!"

Never got that ending joke
I've never seen Schindler's List, so I had no idea that the "I could have done more" joke had anything to do with it. I just thought it was part of that character's bizarre behavior towards the Seinfelds.

Please, make it stop
This just sounds horrible. Unless it's redeemed by eight really clever live music videos, in which case Wow! look at that!

And Enkidu totally had fanboys.

life before the 90s
Just to put a bit of context on the whole "man-of-destiny" thing is a mainstay fantasy, you could go a little earlier than The Matrix or Harry Potter. Maybe King Arthur? Or if you need something more recent, Star Wars even?

pork liver, pork fat, and pork
Liverwurst sandwiches, with mayonnaise and cucumbers. I don't actually remember ever eating them, but according to my mother they were my favorite sandwich until I was teased for eating them in school, so maybe I blocked out the trauma or something. Since this was in New England, I was

Check out Hardy in "Bronson". I don't think he'll need to 'roid up for this role.

As incredible is RFTC was live, John Reis's other band Hot Snakes blew them out of the water, even without a horn section.

After having wasted $3.33 and almost 2 hours of my life watching Predators last night, I heartily approve of punishing Adrian Brody.

Donna, thanks for sharing the grading consensus. One question, though: are you grading episodes relative to the series in question, or to an abstract standard? I guess I'm asking if you're grading each series on its own curve.

no cure for cancer aids
Thanks to those Jersey bastards!

One more vote for present tense…

I've never seen the Western edit of Shaolin Soccer, but when my brother gave me a bootlegged copy of the Chinese version before it was released in the US, I thought it was the funniest thing I'd ever seen. And Kung Fu Hustle is just as good.

Everything Dies
I still remember watching this when it first came out, and just being dumbstruck at how they switched the tagline. I never would've guessed how badly the series would fizzle out….

So the real stealth firsty here would be to make the 15th comment….which appears to be a comment about Garfield hating Mondays.

Seed Toss
Cast Iron
Punch Me Harder
Throwing Things
Slack Motherfucker
Brand New Love (Sebadoh cover!)
On the Mouth (why only a b-side for a kick-ass title track?)
Mower
I Guess I Remembered It Wrong
Like A Fool

I'm a fan from "No Pocky For Kitty" (which is probably still my favorite album of theirs), saw them live several times, and actually got to open up for them once. Needless to say, they blew all traces of my band's performance off the stage with their first riff….
