I saw this in the theater about 6 months before my 16th birthday. The reason I remember this is because it had an age restriction of 16, so I had to sneak in to see it. Really fucking enjoyed it and still do on the odd occasion. This WAS Grindhouse before I knew what Grindhouse was.

Looking forward to seeing this. I'm happy that Idris Elba got to play Madiba. I've read the book so I'm pretty sure this won't live up to my expectations. There's just too much to cover. Should rather stick to a few specific moments or eras. I think it will do well in South Africa regardless.

I found out about his passing from DRUNK HULK on twitter a few hours ago. Hit me like a ton of bricks. I'm just glad he had a good innings.
