He's also called Kuifie in Afrikaans. We don't have the 'j' like in the Dutch, but it's pronounced the same and means the same thing - crest/tuft - because of his hair. The 'ie' or 'je' is diminutive, so the original word would be kuif. And it's basically pronounced like kayf. Kuifie/Kuifje is pronounced kay-fee.
