I agree with you about the first half of season 4, but I'd also say that there were two "inferior" episodes that did a lot to drag the season down (Open House and Cornered). There was a lot of great stuff in that first half (I'd put Thirty-Eight Stub maybe in my top 5) but it felt like the individual episodes weren't…

As good as Breaking Bad S4 is, I'd still say Mad Men hands down. It's up there with The Wire S4 and The Sopranos S3 (probably closer to the latter as that was largely self contained episodes).
