Movies like Saw seem like the worst of both— no giddy fun like Nightmare, but also not the weird atmospheric creepiness of a Ring. So, like Claire, I read the spoiler specials instead.

Have you guys been to a college laundromat? Those girls aren't always washin' sexy stuff. Just sayin'.

The bubbles! The accordion! My grandmother watched that pretty religiously.

I loved Monstervision. The MST3K book says the "Hearts of Space" people loved the parody so much they sent them a nice letter and some CDs.

I remember my great-grandparents having Hee Haw on.

I wonder if half the reasons the comments are low is people read down to a game they like and run off to play it.

A buck an hour isn't a bad cost, either.

Ooh, you can change the cat's costumes? Fantastic.

For once, a Facebook meme does good.

Yes, because that joke was totally not about the age of the weapon at all.

You should read the book, it's pretty awesome. At one point two of the (male) leads fall into a cursed spring and get pregnant. And the other two have to go find magic abortion water for them.

I think Carrie's just a good, straight-up horror movie. You don't need a degree in cinematic analysis to enjoy or appreciate the craft that goes into it. Yeah, it adds layers— and may be necessary for some of his other movies— but it's clear that at least some of his work just stands on its own merits.

Anyone remember the title of the book?

Nobody gets it right every time.

Because he might have thrown them out the window?

I suspect a lot of it will have to do with if they can prove his work performance was suffering. They clearly can't say much about his not-at-work behavior.

Eh, we never stop adapting Shakespeare or Jane Austen.

Well played, Sean.

Journey to the West isn't 'a fable,' it's a pretty big Chinese novel that's been hugely influential. Dragonball, Monkey Magic, Saiyuki, that weirdly forgettable Jet Li/Jackie Chan movie, half a zillion video games….

These are the times 'the author is dead' were made for.
