I agree about Louie CK,@avclub-eac75edc18b8546c46893fe4b75ab995:disqus That seemed like a more natural fit. Hell, even Mark Brendanowicz would seem more realistic. It's like they introduced the Adam Scott character just to be Leslie's love interest, which is fine I guess, but I still haven't warmed up to the idea for

I love this show, but think this episode tipped over into schmaltz. The show's always had a warm fuzzy heart, but rarely has it just focused on a standard love relationship and used it as the whole point of an episode. Andy and April was interesting because their relationship was unconventional, and there were a lot

I thought he was finally going to make the long-awaited sequel to sex, lies and videotape, to be titled celibacy, honesty and bluray.

Um, what exactly makes this song "complicated"? The bird sample? Because the structure is really predictable. It's a crappy brostep track with someone rapping over it. My mind remains un-blown.

I take issue with the modifier "just" in front of the word "masochism."

I loved Wonder Showzen and Xavier: Renegade Angel beyond all reason, and I'm probably one of the only people to have watched Final Flesh more than 20 times. I am a Vernon Chatman superfan, and I can't wait to see this show. Also, this interview is hilarious. The answer is Foucault.

You are not alone.

This show is terrible but I can't stop watching it.

Yes, really. I can disagree with you and not be "ignorant," right?

I agree with everything you say here. I think Dawkins approach to religion is a bit hysterical. You can be an advocate for science and secularism without denigrating religion, which after all (as you said) is a human invention, and is embedded into our culture and our history, and cannot simply be disposed of

Is anyone really buying Adam Scott as a "nerd"? It seems like a stretch given what we've learned about his character so far. Are the writers just trying to find ways to make him endearing, because he's so painfully unfunny and poorly cast? I'm not buying it. I wish they would write the Ben character out of the show.

Tilda Swinton should change her name to ~ Swinton.

Judith Butler didn't say gender is a "perseption." She said gender was performative, and a social construction. That's quite a bit different. Judith Butler wasn't claiming that we all live in the Gender Matrix, she was making a perfectly reasonable and self-evident point about social constructions and normativity with

Deliberately failed seriousness
I think this reviewer and some of the commenters so far are pretty seriously misconstruing the tone of this show. True Blood is a campy, exploitative farce, like Melrose Place, but with gore, explicit sex and monsters. When the show is successful, you should find some of the narrative

Any other Ben Wyatt haters?
I enjoyed Party Down in spite of Adam Scott, not because of him. There is something generally appealing about the guy, and he is cute (if you are into that sort of thing), but I really don't think he is funny. At all. His line readings are stiff and unconvincing. The Parks & Rec writers

Bracingly
The word "bracingly" appears in this review twice. That seems like too many times.

Lowered expectations?
Maybe it was just the low expectations I had going into it because I read this review before watching it, but I thought it was brilliant. Other than a few awkward moments that just didn't work comedically, the whole show was far better than anyone had any right to expect.

And what exactly would be desirable about all viewpoints being expressed? This is the story from Valerie Plame's POV. Do you think it would make sense to have some right-wing talking head provide some kind of dissenting opinion at the end of the film? Think about what you are saying, moron.

I disagree with Sgt. Hatred
He's a good character, an interesting character and a funny character. And child molestation IS funny if it's handled in a comedic way.

I liked this movie the first time I saw it…
…when it was called The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
