ha! exactly what my wife said. we've actually eaten at volt, and they nailed the vibe perfectly…
bookers is the manliest bourbon that has ever been bottled.
mt gay "eclipse" (that's their gold rum, and most popular) is our everyday rum and we go through at least gallon per month in the summer. any time we go on the boat, we fill a nalgene bottle and it always comes home empty…it's awesome stuff!
well, the wife and i are 40-somethings with 2 tweens…but we manage to maintain a pretty awesome social life.
if you want to acquire (not-so-sketchily) inexpensive bourbons, then i'd recommend four roses (yellow label) or elijah craig 12-yr which can usually be had right around $20…the four roses maybe even $15.
try the kraken with ginger beer and a lime wedge. it's fucking heaven!
which of the parker's do you have?
@blue_lander:disqus re: rye. i go through a bottle of bulleit rye about once a month. the rittenhouse is pretty good too.
yeah…i've seen that bottle at my local liquor store but have not tried it yet. i think they may have had a "pumpkin moonshine" or something like that over the holidays…
i LOVE el dorado 12-yr! try the ron zacapa 15-yr…it's awesome.
much like wine, i think every bourbon tastes different on every palette. so preferences will always vary. that said, i love stagg nearly as much at the pappy. i've not tried to 23-yr pappy but can imagine that it's much different than the 15-yr.
i've never been a big gin guy, but the citadelle reserve sounds interesting.
@avclub-6188d67c7355d4166b6d12db43485400:disqus well, if they cast colin firth as the auctioneer with a speech impediment, perhaps he could squeeze out 4 or 5 fucks and still maintain the PG-13 rating!
bull fucking shit! stop fucking with my internets paradigm!!! it's built on 0s &1s for fuck's sake! there is NO MIDDLE GROUND!
don't forget lots of side-boob action!
also, nic cage should have to swap faces with the yup guy.
i prefer bro-bag
u2 and r.e.m. were like the 2 biggest/most popular bands in the world in 1993, and yet, by grammy standards, they were "alternative".
whoomp! (there it is!)
