I'm going to read it, especially considering this could be Wolfe's last novel given his age and the research/time he tends to put into his novels.

McInerney wrote that when he was in his early 20s and the tone was far too influenced by the chic, nihilistic style of the time. It doesn't hold up well, but to be fair, he developed into a really good writer as he got older. Brightness Falls and the Good Life, both sequels to BL, BC - were actually very well written

Were that many people really shocked that Gillian's intention was to murder fake Jimmy? Wasn't the failing brothel business and straight up being told that Jimmy needed to be dead for her to inherit the house sufficient foreshadowing? I see a lot of complaints about the show being too heavy-handed, yet everyone seems

Stray observations: Is it legal if someone drinks liquor off of Gillian's left nipple, since it reaches international waters?

7 years old - I love basketball. My mom told my Grandpa to take me to see 'White Men Can't Jump'. Grandpa didn't seem to mind all the swearing and n-bombs, but he made me close my eyes when Rosie Perez showed those DDs.

I agree. When Dexter killed Doakes it made it clear that Dexter will also kill to be in "survival mode" and protect himself. There was no reason to kill Doakes other than he would be fucked if Doakes lived.

I really liked the episode, but I'd rather they make fun of people from the Midwest moving to Brooklyn and then becoming denizens of indie culture.

This show is at its best when its' the guys just shooting the shit or doing things in their everyday lives. Nothing was funny or interesting about the training camp and the delivery room scene was really forced and unfunny. The show is better without any cameos.
