I was waiting for him to veer off into a furious screed about Iha's writing credit on "Mayonaise."

Chungking Express should definitely be next.

I guess I should have been more specific…it feels like MW2 with some aspects of Black Ops built into it. Multiplayer has felt a lot more fluid to me than Black Ops though (which was clunky even when I managed to actually play a game instead of getting randomly booted off), so that's why I've been using MW2 as my point

Given all the drama that went down with Infinity Ward, I was worried this would turn out to be a fiasco, so I'm actually quite satisfied that it just plays like a tweaked version of MW2.

Tony Leung's character speaks that quote in the Singapore sequence, shortly before the Cambodia scene, where he lies and tells his friend that he has no secrets.

Being forced to read Dickens in a godforsaken jungle for the rest of your life is just grim. Black Mischief is up there, too.

Hey, everything ended just fine for ol' Stan Valchek!

Yeah, I totally wanted to buy Tony Leung's character a sympathy beer after that ending. It's a slow burn of internalized hurt.

Yeah, I was surprised the Family Man cover didn't make this list. I mean…just look at it!

I'm pretty sure all the scenes were written to fit a soundtrack in Cameron Crowe's mind.

Totally agree on "Temptation" being the New Order song I'd choose above all (and many worthy) others.

I'm also baffled by the love for "Atmosphere", which I often hear cited as their masterpiece, but just sounds like a chore to get through. "Transmission" and "Digital" are what got me hooked onto JD.

Can we please vote on this
Can we vote to decide the fate of The Great AVClub Content Auto-Recycler-O-Matic? I didn't think it was possible, but that Chinese 3-D porn pic just keeps getting creepier and creepier.

Criterion Collection-immortalized director Michael Bay will take your film criticism under consideration, just as soon as he finishes editing scenes with some really bitchin' 'splosions and talking with his financial planner about what to do with his many millions (probably investing in new bitchin' robot and

"First, I'd say that using Greenspan as an example isn't probably a great one. He was the Fed Chairman. Which while "technically" not part of the government, is essentially a controlling force that works closely with the government. So, if Greenspan espoused that he was a Rand disciple it was either utter bullshit or

Yeah, no love here for the conspiracy in Hot Fuzz?

Iceberg lettuce is way too bland. The crunchiness may be nice, but you have to smother the shit out of it with salad dressing or balsamic or whatever to make it palatable. Give me the peppery taste of arugula or even the subtle flavors of romaine lettuce any day.

1. Zach Braff has called Garden State "a big, life-affirming, state-of-the-union address for twentysomethings." If you want to know why he generates so much hate for that shitty movie, there's your answer. Nice soundtrack, though.

Lollapalooza '94
Nice to see a write up on Lollapalooza 1994, which still remains my favorite festival concert experience. I remember it was a ridiculously hot summer day and it helped make the crowd atmosphere slightly delirious, but still super positive.

I didn't get into Pulp until after they broke up, so when I saw Jarvis at Pitchfork in Chicago in 2008, it was the closest I thought I'd ever get to a Pulp concert. The man has some charismatic stage presence…I definitely got why he was such a rock star back in the day. I'm geeking out at the thought of finally
