I get what you're saying. My reading can get sporadic so starting with the most intuitively interesting may be the likeliest method to set the hook.

Such a great response; it's tremendously helpful. Sincere thanks.

Haven't read any of his work. Can you recommend a starting place, or comment on if the jumping-in spot matters at all? I'm inclined to start with this one bcs I find the narrative's time frame attractive.

Agreed; the first thing to come to mind after reading the piece's title. Surprised this didn't make the initial list or get referenced earlier on.

Ew, looks disgusting.

First off: Great song choice. The wild horses imagery is trite and woefully on the nose. But I do like what's conjured by glass on the beach: something hard to see and dangerous in an area of play and pleasure. Just curious, do you find the line trite, or is it something else about it?

Well this exchange has left me feeling like a jerk. To cleanse this fake identity's soul I'm going to try sincerity:

Interesting. I didn't think this Evil Dead would be worth a visit. Looking fwd to watching it.

A bridge as a simile for helping someone through hard times? I don't see it. Bridges can only be metaphors for broken dreams, failed relationships, and strategies for avoiding dampness.

A silver bird? A bird made entirely out of silver? C'mon!

Bridge Over Troubled Water. Pretty tune but what the hell are S&G prattling on about?

The face of Garbo is an Idea, that of Hepburn an Event.

Priest: New Testament cigarettes. I smoke em. *He* smokes em. You stick to New Testament cigarettes, all is forgiven.

I don't fully understand it, but I'd like to see Christina Hendricks perform this copy.

This entry is abysmal but, that photo, it needed to be seen in slightly larger form. I thought yahoo had prepared me for not clicking on this kind of thing. The AV Club is turning into yahoo so slowly I'm barely even noticing.
