Please Make Kristen Wiig Stop With Her Hands Already
While I definitely thought this was the best episode of the season (which, yeah, isn't saying much), it could have been so much better if not dominated by Kristen Wiig and her infinite amount of facial tics and spastic hand gestures.

Spock would have been funnier — or at least more meta — because Chevy Chase played Spock in the infamous SNL skit "The Last Voyage of the Starship Enterprise."

A Meta Joke they Actually Missed
Instead of having Pierce dressed as Kirk, it would have been more meta (and funnier) to have him dressed as Spock.

I have no desire to see Nurse Jackie, but Edie Falco was often hilarious in The Sopranos.

Ball Four: The Series
Talk about a concept that was doomed from the start. No way they were able to replicate the humanistic bawdiness of the book.

Just to go really old school, the WKRP in Cincinnati pilot is another one that established the premise, the characters and the conflicts all while getting some laughs.

Honestly, I think this might be the best year since 1991.

Loved this Novel
Been awhile since I read it, but I always had the mental image of the city being the same kind of city as depicted in mid-20th century superhero comic books — all tall, thin buildings, many of them narrowing at the top, punctuated with tall radio towers.
