Robert Pollard has become The Simpsons of Indie Rock
In that he totally killed for pretty much most of the 90s, but lost it at some point that everybody disagrees upon (I think he was great through ISOLATION DRILLS)

I should point out that every single person who has made a list in this thread (a small sample, I know, but still) has included THE WHO SELL OUT in their top 3.

That performance of "A Quick One" comes out of nowhere in The Kids Are Alright — suddenly, there's Keith Richards introducing them "And now, dig The Who" — and for the next 8 minutes they pretty much school every band ever.

The Inevitable Ranking of Albums
The Who were my favorite band in high school, and despite Townshend's trying his hardest to lose his fans with endless crappy albums and reunions, their first decade reigns supreme forever. So here's a ranking from a guy who has loved them for over 30 years:

HA!

Check again, Seinfeld is there. I just place it slightly below the other three.

Sigh. Problem with top of my head is that it's wrong: I meant Friends instead of Cheers, forgot King of the Hill (as usual) and neglected to point out that list was pretty much for the entire 1990s.

Oh yeah, the second part of the 80s & first part of the 90s were a TV wasteland. Off the top of my head, besides the shows I mentioned above, there were Twin Peaks, Buffy, Newsradio, Mr. Show (which suffered from even more underexposure than Larry Sanders at the time), Northern Exposure (which sadly doesn't hold up

Best TV Show of the 90s?
I think that the writing, acting and the bravery of the Larry Sanders Show set it apart from everything else in the decade.

Welcome to your Mid-Life Crisis!!

@Montypark,

Like CBS Should Talk
It's 83 years old!

Shocked!
I mean, if you can't trust someone named "Plastic," then who can you trust?

:: explodes ::

Litmus Test
If they use Paul McCartney's "Helen Wheels," for the theme song, then you know it's gonna suck.

Not Only That, I Have More Than One Leg!
"The reporter in the episode had one leg, but I've always had two legs!"

KISS / Michael Bay

The Significance of Don's Call Girl
I'm amazed that in all of the commentary I've read about Don's obviously ongoing relationship with the call girl that nobody has pointed out that she is neither a blonde or brunette, but a redhead.

Et tu, Tristiac? Et tu?

Damn Him! Damn Him to Hell!!
He gives all of us a bad name!
