I actually cooked some decent stuff this week. On Saturday, I gave boeuf bourguignon a try and it turned out really well. It took all afternoon, but it was worth it. Monday night, I made roasted chicken thighs with a mustard honey sauce with fresh collard greens. I have to come up with something for Friday as a…
What's annoying you today?
That was basically my exact approach. My department (15 people) had the most ridiculous fight over who got to come in at 7:00 and leave early, so I told them if they couldn't work out a schedule, or no one would get that shift and I'd get another department to cover the work at 7:00. Amazingly, they made a schedule.
I bought a small bottle around a month back, so it is still around as far as I can tell.
I was planning on going to watch a Titans practice last night because I thought it'd be cool to watch an NFL practice. I'm not a Titans' fan or anything, but their practice facility is about 10 minutes from my house. It rained. I didn't go.
Being meaning to say, I love that picture from your avatar. It has been my desktop background for a while.
There was a genealogy website that would do it. It was never close to being accurate but fun to upload people's pictures and mock them for the results.
I have had a subscription for the last two years. Granted, I didn't pay for it. I got one in the mail and assumed it was a promotion until another arrived the following month. Turned out, a buddy of mine drunkenly decided to order subscriptions for me and another friend. So, they're still arriving.
Stupid work. A clustering service shit the bed about two minutes before the TI posted and it took me an hour and a half to get everything working.
I hate trimming my beard, but I also just did it on Saturday. It just looks…wrong. There seems to be a bunch of "old school" barber shops popping up around here and I think I'm going to go to one of those next time.
Yeah, me too. I started by using their Best of the Year music column as a starter for downloading stuff from Napster. They had Lambchop's Nixon as one of the top albums which led to me trying them out, and my love of Lambchop was born.
I was bumped up to department manager at my old job when I was 34. The department was split between people much older than me who had been there longer, and rookies who were either much younger or had little experience. It did not take me long to grow very weary of the babysitting bullshit and the pissy people who…
@avclub-323ca7b091beb1b26cc7a2612f1475d5:disqus Yep, black tie. I like the skinnier one on the second link. I've been looking for one like that. I am going to buy a cheap one soon to begin practicing tying it. I may have to send some to the groomsmen, as well, or I'll be tying everyone's.
I suppose this qualifies as fashion related, but I finally bit the bullet and ordered the tuxes for my wedding. Because the fiancee loved it so much, I am going with a ivory dinner jacket with thin shawl lapels, black slim cut pants, black cummerbund and self tie bow tie. The groomsmen and ushers will be in all…
Yeah, with this formula, I'd have a much better porn career: Bodie Gregory.
@avclub-560eb60373b30a42bb1d813a47ebae5b:disqus I went to a birthday party that had a liquor filled pinata. I awoke the next day with my head shaved bald.
I don't know about the best, but I've always been a fan of Sol or Carta Blanca.
Joseph South 11th. Doesn't really work for me.
Man, you Austinites with your Shiner, Tito's and good barbeque. At least, I have access to the alcohol but the barbeque kind of sucks around here. I still dream of this brisket I had at some little joint right off 6th st. I can't remember the name of the place, but I did have to ask former Sen. Bill Bradley to move…
