I think it boils down to sheer desperation (not enough qualified people in this field) and giant corporation neglect. The fucker came in at 9:15 yesterday and left at 4:00. This is after taking a lunch and then going to the Gelato place for his daily 2:00 cone.

I don't know what you thi k of the man (I love his writing and think he's brilliant), Hunter Thompson's collection of letters The Proud Highway: Saga of a Desperate Southern Gentlemen was a fascinating read.
