I still have to put Yo La Tengo - Fade and The National's Trouble Will Find Me high on my list.

Don't forget to pass the Maui Wowee.

Glad to be back!

I think it boils down to sheer desperation (not enough qualified people in this field) and giant corporation neglect. The fucker came in at 9:15 yesterday and left at 4:00. This is after taking a lunch and then going to the Gelato place for his daily 2:00 cone.

First of all, I am happy to report disqus is no longer blocked at work. Yay! It's the same as last year. It was blocked for a few months and then was not.

For literally, the first time in my life outside of sports, I have been going to the gym for the past three weeks.  I have been doing both cardio and weights. To start, I ride a bike for 30 minutes which is typically around 7 miles. Once off that, I have been doing basic arm/chest and leg machines for a couple of reps

I saw the Mountain Goats earlier this year, and it was a blast watching Darnielle be his goofy self on and off stage. He stayed behind the merch booth signing stuff and talking to people for an hour after the show.  When my fiancee and I talked to him, he held up his finger and said, "One second, this is my jam!" and

The answer is yes, and it is glorious.  Seriously, the Pharmacy is like Disney World for me…it is the happiest place on earth.  Homemade tater tots with beer gravy, I rest my case.

Why yes, PA is correct.

I don't know what you thi k of the man (I love his writing and think he's brilliant), Hunter Thompson's collection of letters The Proud Highway: Saga of a Desperate Southern Gentlemen was a fascinating read. His letters from when he was 17 showed how strong of a voice he had even as a teenager. Anyway, my $.02.

Hey! Happy birthday. The 28th happens to be my fiancee's birthday too. We're just having some friends over for cake and ice cream, and what ever beverages they choose to drink. I think I am going to grill some kabobs or something, I still have to decide.

So yeah, thanks everyone. It is a happy little story of people being nice with no personal gain in mind. When my sister read the first note from Luis, my nephew started crying. She asked him what was the matter, and he said, "it's just so nice. He didn't have to do that." it really meant a bunch to a sick little boy.

It's almost cliched now to say it, but they are always a grower. I really liked Demons, Gracelss and Pink Rabbits on first listen, though. I also got tickets to see them at the Ryman, which is especially cool because Frightened Rabbit is opening. I missed them in March by dicking around and the show sold out. People

Name, um, Switters is a character I really love in the Tom Robbins' book Fierce Invalids Home from Warm Climates. The avatar: why, it is an awesome picture of Deadpool riding a winged horse through a rainbow under the word taco. Isn't that obvious? It just kicks ass.

No shuffle, just the first 30 minutes or so of the new National. I'm really digging it.

Okay, a kind of cool update. A month or so back I posted a bummer note that my nephew had been diagnosed with bone cancer.  He is on his 3 round of chemotherapy and things are going well given the circumstance. He is handling it well all things considered and everything is on track to hopefully have the tumor removed
