I don't think one should feel guilty for enjoying Pat Conroy novels. High school was when he was introduced to me as well, and I loved The Lords of Discipline, The Great Santini, and the Prince of Tides. The only thing is that his books are always a major downer. Beach Music was the last thing I read by him and it

I….would like….people…to perform….bestialities for me.

Why do they have a door marked pirate?

Also Wilco.

Joe Henry fits the bill as the great solo singer/songwriter. Maybe Deer Tick as a band.

That movie doesn't sound like hard sci fi.

Sorry to hear that, man. I feel like an utter shit for bitching about the wind blowing dirt in my face when I was sitting outside drinking a beer. This was, of course, before I saw the news.

Off topic, but Hey tibber! You're alive. You did not get tornado'd, I take it.

I am not sure which station it was on, but I loved the mini series Chiefs. Anyone remember that one? It was about the police chiefs in a small town and the guy that kept killing them. There was a Carradine involved, although I cannot recall which one.

Anyone else have the white sweatshirt with the day glo Miami Vice logo on it? It was a favorite of mine, along with those super fashionable Coca Cola shirts.

This is partly due to being busy at work and partly

Oh yeah, I remember Jam On It. I was looking at the timeline for some of these releases and it is funny how I get the releases all mixed up. Like, It just seems wrong to me that Straight Outa Compton predates 3Feet High and Rising, and The Low End Theory seems older than 1991.

I'll answer you!

When that brown AB convertor box was first hooked up at my house, I believe Nickelodeon was on A and Mtv was on B, the first video I saw was Jessie's Girl. This was a point of contention as my older sister loved Rick Springfield and refused to believe I saw this video before her.

My grandparents owned a skating rink which they sold to my parents when they retired. The bonus to this is that there were bags and boxes full of 45s from the 60s - 80s always around. From digging through those bags, my favorites were things like Come Together and I'm a Believer by the Monkees.
