Hank's failed attempt at getting a magazine without disturbing Amber made the episode for me. I've been in that situation where you don't want to disturb the person so you try to shift all muscle movement in your body to one side like a human Tempur-Pedic mattress.

I don't know if this has been posted elsewhere on The A.V. Club or in any of the comments sections, but on Twitter there was a fun flame war last week between the official Hannibal Twitter account and the official Community Twitter account:

That was the funniest thing I've ever seen on this show. Agents of SHIELD needs to be cheesier.

Was the bridge Ava and Raylan met on to discuss the terms of Ava's snitchery the same bridge in "Fire in the Hole" where Boyd shot that skinhead recruit whom he suspected was a snitch (but wasn't)?

He spent all season acting like the coward king of Kentucky, throwing his nephew into a prison sentence of 40 to life for the crime he committed without even hesitating to consider a confession. That Daryl Crowe died with his balls shot off was god damned poetic.

That smile was so small but so resonant.

I had to think about this for a bit:

Seconded on "Sheesh! Cab, Bob?" as the first indication that this would become a great show. There are some classic episodes along the way, but at about season 3 the show really hits its stride.

Bob really should have kept crawling down the stairs. He was so pleased with himself for doing that.

Aww. You have a beautiful avatar, J.P. McPickleshitter.

Someone's not on board.

I loved the spit take the other detective did after Linda said that.

This show has a really progressive history with regard to sexuality and gender issues. Just in this episode we had Bob's and Linda's comment on Marshmallow's beauty/handsomeness, and Gene's "coincidental" testicles. It's nice.

Another fine babysitting moment for Teddy.

I'll miss Pilot's reviews for Bob's Burgers, and wish her well beyond the show. What's with this show's reviewer turnover? First Rowan, now Pilot.

"Are they confused why Jerry Lewis is calling?"

It's nice to see Bryan Fuller give a shout out to Bates Motel, which is a flawed but thrilling show with brilliant performances. And it shows that Carlton Cuse's work may have been somewhere in his head when constructing that hatch-opening scene where we discovered Miriam alive.

They both have such fierce chemistry with each other, I have no doubt that Zeller and Price would be Matt Walsh and Reid Scott.

Still not as bad as Betty Draper's pillow talk.

Hannibal is a person who Strausses the importance of every detail, in line with Bryan Fuller's own approach to the show.
