I was confused by that conversation.  Was Rothstein implying that she was his mistress, or that he had her set up in the apartment of a powerful man, who was then revealed to be Nucky?

The question is whether Van Alden will turn gangster, or whether he'll join in an attempt to undermine the organization from within in order to somehow redeem himself.  The mechanics of how the latter option would work out are kind of hard to imagine, since he kind of killed a dude and shot a federal agent and…

The whole thing with O'Bannion was a meet-cute straight out of a romantic comedy.  But then again, Van Alden bears such a striking resemblance to Katherine Heigl that I guess we should've seen it coming.
