I saw that. He's 87 years old too. And probably still grumpy as hell. Can't wait to meet him.

That sucks.

I actually like this theory a lot. Bolin and Mako put pretty big targets on their back up joining a public Pro-Bender team with the freaking Avatar. The Triads and Amon would certainty see them as a way to reach her.

I may not have been a big fan of the episode, but I agree the art design and direction is AMAZING. Complete work of art.

I actually like the fact that the bending bros are sort of below-par combat fighters. Instead of watching  Korra get trained in three elements that clearly come natural to her, it would be fun to see her train them.

There is no way that was "energy bending" as we saw in the TLA finale.

Didn't enjoy this week as much as last weeks hour long episode. Mainly because it was very plot heavy and seemed to be connecting a lot of issues quickly rather than letting them flow out organically. Also less humor. Great fights though. I wish we had a few more episodes this season to stretch the pacing out a bit!

This was one of my favorite Lorne episodes ever.

I think so. And the big campaign to Save Angel was launched. Que sad.

If I ever met someone who hated it in real life I think I'd cross the street to avoid them the next time around. Not only do they have terrible taste, they probably have a cold, dead soul.

Man… this last run is absolutely brutal. I love it. Probably shaped my sensibilities as a writer more than any run in TV history (I saw it when I was in college and yes I like killing off my favorite characters.)

I've seen them on other boards AV/threads. It boogles my mind too.

Also, I completely forgot "Why We Fight" even exists. It's pretty much the last meh episode of the entire series on the sprint to the finish line.

I signed on to AV Club this week for the dual purposes of commenting on TLA finale and to defend Smile Time. Haters gonna hate, but this was one of the the first episodes I ever saw in Angel and it cemented my love of the series. I seriously think this episode and next weeks A Hole in the World are the best 1-2-Punch

I'm still annoyed something as archaic as Nielson ratings are used to determine a shows worth. Mass media, especially in episodic television, is HEAVILY moving forward to a digital distribution model in the future, where clever shows like these will flourish. It's too bad we haven't reached that point yet where there

I gotta agree. This show has done this super meta thing better (as illustrated above) and done it worse. This falls squarely in the middle for me right now… although much of it might have gone over my head. Def needs repeat viewings.

Meet… the Paradox.

Just had to come back here and saw that "Two Cathedrals" had a very inspiring effect on my life too, and is easily one of the best scripted episodes ever broadcast on television.

As unhappy as I was with the tag-team feel to the Agnai Kai, I LOVED Katara's final move so much I let it slide. Really showed her growth as a warrior - personally I feel that she was easily the most underestimated bender in the entire series.

Well said.
