On Speakeasy with PFT, Odenkirk said that Goodman isn't actually a Jew, but it helps him for his clientele to think that he is.

"You're onto something here - but hippies are ok man. Especially when you're hungry. I'll get my coat."
fixed
Yow missed a real set-up there.
I have. Its the sound of a bloated pile of ego offgassing. Some of the first Manassas lp is not terrible tho, I'll give you that.
Neil Young does love steve stills, he sez so in his book. People talk about Rod Stewart being a waste of talent, Stills right up there. He can play guitar and sing, but he writes the stupidest songs. Suite Judy Blue Eyes is as bad as Love The One Yer With.
And I could choke ALL of CSN, dear sweet jesus, they suck…
Jason Carmer was a big DC HC scenester back in tha day, he was in 9353 and Double O. Its interesting that 20 years later he was producing Third Eye Blind on their way down.
It doesn't "bother" me that a lame band uses fake amps, it makes me laugh.
I like that they roll them out on that big dolly. If it doesn't matter that people know that they're fake, then they should set up their own fake amps, DIY style.
The Peavey was a classic "new wave" amp, I've seen both Elvis Costello and Paul Weller get great sounds out of em.
not every band does it. Most have their combos up there with a mic in front of em to send em through the PA. Neil Young has an obvious scrim of huge amps, but that doesn't count on account of him being Neil Young.
That means they get paid by Peavey to have fake amps? That's an infinite circle of stupid.
The live version of Calvary Cross from the (guitar, vocal) compilation is freakin epic.
This song sounds like Jesus and Mary Chain mashed up with New Order. Awesome.
the idea that Springsteen represents a lack of pretension is laughable.
I was saying Booo-urns.
These tools make Paul Simon sound like Crass.
Still have my dad's copies of these and the Tom Leherer albums. Thrown in the fabulous book My Brother Was An Only Child by Jack Douglas and you might make the case that the early 60's were a peak for American comedy.
ehhhh…its ok. A little soft. Revelations is great tho.
Hard to explain what a mind blow these guys were in the early 80's. Nothing sounded like them. In a way they were like Husker Du, massive guitar noise, catchy songs, great rhythm section.
Dawes?
