Sloan's argument against the cost of drones doesn't make any sense. Aside from the fact that I don't know where she (Sorkin) got the unit costs she stated for a drone vs an F-16, but is she seriously suggesting that the U.S. military would, instead of buying the four drones, only buy 1 F-16?

Always nice to engage in enlightened discourse

He should have said "people might take you more seriously if you didn't try to crap on police cars and burn down Oakland."

Except within the show they are citing ratings in the 1-2 million viewer range, which would put them in the range of MSNBC, which for years was a solid No. 2.

Judging by the snippets of NewsNight we get, I'm not sure Aaron Sorkin has a complete understanding of what cable news actually is, despite whatever protestations against it this show is supposed to represent. Or at the very least he's synthesized the negative aspects he's focused on while ignoring the larger context

The deposition seems to take place the week of the 2012 election, so there's months of Zimmerman coverage that could fit into that timeline.

Yeah, but if he's that bad he's not going to survive long anyway.

It occurs to me, that Odo's arc in Children of Time is very similar to Jake Sisko's in The Vistor, in the sense that they spend a lifetime waiting for a loved one to return via a temporal anomaly, with the intention of sacrificing themselves to save that person

Like you said, it's early. Maybe too early to really know who is good enough to beat you. So you can't take the risk.

SPOILERS (since some of this may be covered in other episodes)

Here's a gag that struck me as I was commenting on what I thought was a simpler joke: the fact that Rebel Alley's kid is named Lem. So, he was named after the lunar module in Ron Howard's office (I assume), but then there's the running joke (based on reality) that the Howard kids were named after where they were

"He’s sort of just been told who he should pick"

I don't suppose there's any chance that they actually got John Hurt to play 12

"We never really do find out why Monica, Chandler, Joey, and Phoebe are friends with each other."

"Ties of Blood and Water" has the great scene between Sisko, Dukat and Weyoun in which Sisko tells them security intercepted the poisoned bottle of kanar Dukat tried to sent to Ghemor. It starts off as a typical Sisko/Dukat back and forth, with Sisko being mad and Dukat taking umbrage. And then the wild card steps in

especially vegetarian girl

Did they put out the lamb heads so they could instantly disqualify anyone who tried to use them? "I tried to re-create the dish from Octopussy, chef. Would you like an eyeball?"

What kid doesn't love his mother's cooking? That's all they know

Brian was pretty classless when he said he felt he'd be staying because he didn't think Jimmy's dish looked good enough. Like how would you know, beaver boy?
