Not to mention the impeccable logic of "we HAVE to stage this new number right this second, here's a stand-in who will be JFK just for now but also Marilyn doesn't get to sing a note".  They're really making it easy to doubt Julia's competence.

Ugh, if we extend the logic about the musicals mirroring the personal lives of the show characters, what will be the "one good death" on "Smash" this season?  We can always hope for the a-hole bartender but it seems much more likely it'll be his earnest roommate who wanted this more than anything, which, they better

I am surprisingly into the Tina storyline.  It may be undignified, but so is high school.   I mean, none of this seems like a smart move on Tina's part (and I'm not sure where they're going with it) but these characters are still supposed to be kids - learning, making mistakes, etc.  It's a relatively new character

Plus who can dismiss all of Kurt's unforgettable adventures at Vogue, like the time he…um… or that thing where Sarah Jessica Parker did…something, right?

Well they need *someone* else to fill out NYC, because it feels like they lost some plot lines at the mid-season break,  Now that Kurt is in NYADA I guess they unceremoniously put Sarah Jessica Parker on the next train out of Bushwick.  And is Rachel done with Kate Hudson's class?  Or is Hudson stuck in the waiting

Been liking this a lot (watched all of last season on Hulu) although I am still not sure what to make of the characters in a way that's different than described here - I'm not sure that any of them are all that likable, actually.  Which is different than watchable, of course, but it's still a weird place for a show to

If they need a Brit, how about James Corden?  There.  Sorted.

It wasn't terrible but it felt like low-hanging fruit.

Hip, only baked in one small batch a day donuts are not just a cupcake surrogate.  They are a very real, probably delicious thing that I will never be patient enough to actually experience.

I saw 3/4 of this recently (Skipped "Vervoids" for now) and thought it was pretty passable!  Which sounds like mild praise, but it means I didn't object to it either.  The ending implodes and rips off "Deadly Assassin" to lesser effect, but both "Mysterious Planet" and "Mindwarp" entertained.  I'm even in favor of

This is starting to feel like the early episodes of a 90s sitcom vehicle for a stand-up comedian (not in an unpleasant way!), where the premise of the episode is transparently "She has some jokes about topic X, so this week let's make her do X".  We can cross "youth culture" off the list.

"It gets better." "How could it?"

I actually didn't care for this one and was expecting more of a "B-".  The noir stuff was so archetypal, so by the numbers that it fell almost completely flat for me.  And your explanation of Curtis' character arc makes sense to me, but the nature of his death here still did feel arbitrary for that reason - it wasn't
