So that was the season finale, right?  "No unresolved conflict at the end of any episode, just in case we get canceled."

I'm increasingly disappointed that so many of their fairybacks seem intent on working with specifically Disney iconography.  Yes, it's ABC, and it's a family-ish show, but it feels less imaginative to go to that specific well of references so often.

Max from "Happy Endings", Captain Jack Harkness from "Torchwood", Andy Dwyer from "Parks and Recreation".

Time to ask once again: what are they really going for here?  If each episode is supposed to be a step towards the overall mythology, there is both not enough happening and not clear enough stakes.  We know that they aren’t going to rejoin the fairy tale world anytime soon, so give us something more immediate to be

Windfall!

I still like the show a lot, but I feel like they're starting to hit diminishing returns here.  I know certain leaps of logic have always been a part of the show, but how many dead bodies can they dispose of without getting caught?  Not to mention them all casually stealing a coma patient from a hospital.  I feel like

I have to say, Chris Elliott's character on this show always falls really flat for me.  They stick him in some of the shakiest subplots.

Lackluster guest stars?  The Skype Kid got the biggest laugh of the night for me.  Great delivery.

Lisa is such a scene stealer.  Her delivery of the line about Chicago and Queen Latifah was hilarious, only to be topped by the fact that she didn't second guess it at all and followed it with a supremely confident "I think I have a chance with this guy."

I saw a few clips of her in this, and was impressed.  I mean, I was already a fan, but she was really natural acting against the CGI, and I think it's kind of cool to get a job like this and be sincere and still funny instead of acting like it's beneath you.  Team Slate, all the way.

Great pick.  Whoever decided to let Sperber and Deezen share most of their scenes together was brilliant, they're both hysterical in this.

Max's accent is what's really getting out of control.

"Glee" 3.0: mired in dubious sentimentality and hasty non-resolutions to belabored plot points.

She did two whole albums of holiday duets, appropriate for any white elephant exchange this December.

Rosie O'Donnell and SmashMouth's "Nuttin' for Christmas".  Yes, it's a duet.  It's real and incredible.

Not their best episode, but it may contain their best Chicago reference yet: Max's taco tattoo.  Famed Chicago hot dog eatery Hot Doug's had the exact same promotion, and of course Max is exactly the kind of person who'd go through with it.

I can't figure out if this show's weird approach to storytelling structure is on purpose or some kind of mistake.  They don't really do a plot/b plot because they only have the main pair to work with, so instead almost every episode has featured a little dead end like opening the diner for the homeless, or the episode

Eff THAT ess: Cathy, from the comic strip Cathy!  Ack!

Can Kathy Beth Terry host instead?

A while back there was a press release about the cast of "Cougartown" trying to get background cameos in as many shows as possible, but then I promptly forgot about it.  Someone must be tracking this, right?
