Vixen:"….it's my job to protect everyone."
Mick: "Except me. You snuck up behind me and sliced my throat like a ninja."
Vixen: "There's no such thing as ninjas, you idiot."
Mick: "Tell that to Chuck Norris."
Vixen: "Who's that?"
Mick: "And I'm the idiot!"

Had the exact same thought you did. In fact, I'm pretty sure Lena Luthor implied as much when she said that she was a businesswoman and that the device would make her/LCorp a lot of money.

Depends. Do the Emmys see this as a comedy or a drama? ;)

This POC is right there with you. I binge-watched Black Mirror over the course of a week roughly so when this episode happened I wasn't prepared for the happiness and hopeful tone in it. No lie, I shed a tear when the credits showed up.

Probably one of the best, and weirdly happiest, hours of television I've seen in a long time (I have all of that 80s music stuck in my head now). Back to the dark humour/vibe that is the rest of Black Mirror :)

Lasted until the end of the first season (and this was after everyone was watching the fourth season live) and then asked myself why I had bothered watching in the first place especially when I couldn't stand Rick from the second episode onward.

Best wouldn't be the word I use for it. Most fun? Absolutely.

Some shows you go in knowing that they'll be dumb but you still watch them anyways.

It's only the first episode so I won't make any snap judgements and as someone upthread already noted, they did do an episode last season where they took her sexuality seriously.

Point taken: LOT is considered the "second worst DC show".

This is considered (by the masses) as the worst of the DC shows but after Supergirl, it honestly had the best season premiere. I don't need all of my shows to be superbly written, acted, directed etc, sometimes I just want to sit back and have some fun and this episode gave me that.

Watched the first part last night and really enjoyed. The cinematography, the casting, the music, everything about it was really good. Those last few scenes with Blue, Ralphangel and the father and then the following bit with Charlie & Nova in the hospital were brilliantly done. That's when I knew I'd be tuning in for

The nun too no?

Wasn't Bennett a vet? He wasn't too bad until he met whatshisface, Aleida's baby daddy

No I don't think you're wrong. I thought the same thing.

I hope they start off where they left, no time jumps and that they actually explore all the possible consequences of 1) Not naming the inmate that died 2) Poussey's decorated general father and how he reacts to all of this 3) Humps bringing in a gun 4) Daya with the gun 5) Piscatella's suspension etc.

Good point. Would the reaction be the same? I honestly have no idea. All I know is that this was a good season of TV and apparently I'm not alone in thinking that :)

I can never keep up with this stuff. If it's a drama then yes, I hope they grab a few Emmys next year (isn't that when this season will be considered?)

IS OITNB still considered a comedy by the "esteemed" Emmy panel?

It has been pretty interesting to see how the narrative about this season changed because of that picture (with understandable concerns) but then to be made to feel like if you disagree then you have a problem? I haven't liked that at all.
