The IRON MAN 2 trailer had a joke (Tony Stark telling his secretary "you complete me" before jumping out of the back of the plane) that wasn't in the theatrical release.  OK, not a big deal, lines and scenes get cut between the trailer and opening.  But then they included that same joke in the TV spots for the

I watched it for the first time last year, at 33. My sincere reaction was that I felt embarassed for everyone involved.

Christopher Abbott, speaking truth to power.

Where have you gone, Ogre and Stan Gable, a nation turns its lonely eyes to you …

Every time a "Strolling Bones" or similarly themed joke gets trotted out, I think about the joke in "Summer School" where Mr. Shoop implicitly goofs on the Stones for being so old that he had a really old t-shirt from their "first farewell tour."  "Summer School" came out 26 YEARS AGO.

All I can think when I watch this show is, "Wow, they cancelled Ben and Kate and kept this?" And I didn't even like B&K as much as others around here did.

I suppose it's time then for Will Leitch to write something that somehow ties this news to himself.

You're going to have to explain that to me. How do the parents of Teen Mom, Buckwild and Jersey Shore castmembers profit off their (often adult) offspring?

There's plenty of blame to go around, and obviously most of these people probably weren't great to begin with.  That said, my judgement is always going to be harsher about people who not only encourage or tolerate destructive behavior, but also profit from it.

Fallon has a ton of faults and makes no sense as the host of The Tonight Show (a significant percentage of the audience tunes in just for the monolgue, and Fallon is unequivocally awful at that) but at least he is making an effort to utilize his sketch and musical background on a regular basis.  That's why stuff from

Conan really blew the opportunity to do something interesting with the format when he moved to TBS.  He got some numbers for the premiere, and then people stopped tuning in when they realized he wasn't going to do anything different or particularly compelling, and in fact seemed like he was still preoccupied with NBC

To get serious for a sec, you really hope this will cause MTV production executives to reflect a bit on their programming choices over the last five years in particular. One Buckwild death, one Teen Mom requesting to be locked up rather than accept rehab because her addiction is so terrible, other Teen Moms getting

Yeah, that makes sense.  Kids who were teens during their peak who now look back fondly and have a bit of disposable income.

I see what you mean, but at least a couple from my limited knowledge (Palace at Auburn Hills and the Honda Center), and I think a few others are at least in the 10K capacity range.

Interesting. I knew they were pretty big at their peak (mid-2000s), but it seemed like their audience had dwindled since that time.

I don't have much of an opinion either way about these guys, but it surprises me that they can play arenas after a 3-year hiatus that followed a pronounced downward trajectory in their popularity and sales.

Hmmm.  This has all the hallmarks of the Britney Spears cameo on "How I Met Your Mother." The ratings pop brought in a new audience to a show that had previously been somewhat of a cult hit, and sustained the show for many more years … but the quality  declined thereafter.

This man clearly knows nothing about film studies.  Treat the text as text. If Hitchcock says something in his interview with Truffaut that contradicts a particular reading of one of his films, ignore it.  He could be lying.

"Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell": this guy seems funny, but this is yet another show where the studio audience ruins it by cheering seemingly every joke rather than just laughing.   So thanks, "Daily Show," for turning politically themed comedy shows into pep rallies.

Yeah, that track really grabbed me.  Some clever and surprisingly piercing lyrics, and undeniable hooks.
