It's OK as long as they retain this show's real heart: providing inspiration to those who want to continue to live like multi-millionaires months and months after their jobs which probably couldn't even have supported that lifestyle have ended. And goofing on out-of-town yokels.

I can't remember what the thread was, but some commenter recently posted a memory of seeing the Jim Carrey version in the theater with his parents and 10-year brother, and the experience being so bad that the brother said "Please don't buy that for me on DVD" when exiting the theater.  Anyway, whoever that was you

"Mungo City"? It was probably a little too glam for alt.rock radio in in '98, which was smack dab in the Goo Goo Dolls, Eve 6, Marcy Playground era.

"In The Meantime" will always be their crowning achievement, but they actually put out a second album ("The Chinese Album") that probably should have gotten a bit more attention (i.e., any) than it did.

It seems like I'm the only person who didn't like the pilot all that much.  The FBI agent literally moving in next door was just a step too far for me (not saying it's completely implausible, because it's DC … just a cheap central premise for a show).  And any action scene with Keri Russell was just comical. She must

Sorry, is Beyonce's music not popular enough to be "bland"? I don't quite get how that works around here.

Here's where I'll chime in to remind everyone that "Die Young" made the Top 25 in last year's Pazz and Jop singles list, and "Warrior" beat out the Pitchfork-endorsed likes of Chairlift, Tanlines and Crystal Castles on the top albums list.

Sure, it was on the episode where they did the 2012 Slammy Awards. It was the background music when they played the "Kiss of the Year 2012" nominations montage.  Here's a direct link: http://www.wwe.com/videos/k…

How can you say this mere days after The Phoenix Screw Job?

Things I Saw in 2012 That Would Have Seemed Patently Absurd to Me in 2005: #1) a Tegan and Sara track prominently featured in a clip montage on an episode of WWE Monday Night Raw.

I still remember the days before "Yellow" broke, when these guys were KCRW-endorsed and a bit of a "my little secret" band among the Santa Monica British ex-pat community and those they palled around with.

Yeah, it's somewhat difficult to imagine given the current reputation of the chain, but TGI Friday's has relatively sordid origins as one of the first "singles bars" in the US.

I really would like to see AMC air a "Talking Dead" after-show instead of this.  I need to get a wrap-up to let me know what to think about Chris Hardwick's effusive praise for this show.

You can do this at Coachella as well (without the unlimited beer component, though).

It never gets old hearing people complain about festival lineups, citing heat and crowd annoyance as reasons not to go, and espousing the virtues of seeing bands in a club setting where they are the headliners. Keep making these points, forever and ever. Thank you.

Yeah, I love listening to those broadcasts (and to a lesser extent, the weekly Top 40 countdown from a particular year in the 80s that they do on SiriusXM's 80s station) because you're reminded of how much stuff was nominally a hit in its time but didn't stick around in the cultural conciousness.  It's also surprising

So you're saying that eBay's being hypocritical with this decision?

There's a show on HGTV (Income Property) that has an opening credits song that is a barely altered version of "Fluorescent Adolescent" by Arctic Monkeys.  They should totally sue.

Only a joke in the sense that I don't actually want hacky observational comedy to return to the forefront. Like you, I could do without the unrelenting, often lackluster confessional material that's in vogue.  Not to mention the fixation on modern nerd identity which, if the first paragraph of this piece is to be
