It isn't a 30 minute show, Mac said they had 42 1/2 minutes per show minus commercials. 15 minutes at the top of the show for Casey Anthony and another 5 minutes at the end leaves 22 minutes for the rest of the news.

I would say that particular character trope originated with Jackie Gleason in the Honeymooners. But I agree with you about Hemsley being talented and that he will certainly be missed.

It seems like if they are only covering major events they are going to get to the present pretty soon. It will be interesting how Sorkin and his surrogate Will cover the Presidential Election, especially the Republican primaries. From the previews, it looks like they are going to start next week as they mentioned

Yes, I agree about it being dickish. I also hate it when one-hit wonder musicians get pissed off when people ask them to play that one hit at concerts. Like, I saw on VH1 that the guy from Flock of Seagulls gets irate when people ask him to play I Ran. Really, why the fuck else would anyone be at a Flock of Seagulls

I think I read they are making that movie.  Bill Carter wrote a sequel a couple of years ago called the War for Late Night.

No mention of Jacob not knowing his home state of Oregon was in the west? He reminded me of Michael Scott from The Office, a complete idiot but with an irrational confidence.

As a UNLV fan I have hated Duke since they beat the undefeated Rebels in the 1991 Final Four. (speaking of rigged games). Regardless of that I will always have the memory of Laettner trying to high five Bobby Hurley and smacking him right in the face when UNLV was destroying them in the 1990 Championship game.

Montypark, Tombstone without question. Val Kilmer puts on a fantastic performance as Doc Holiday.

well, if they do it in real time, then the birth would be in time for February sweeps. I am thinking the baby comes on Valentine's Day or something. All the couples are out and have to rush to the hospital and madcap hijinks ensue. And if this really does happen I will damn sure remind everyone I called it in May.
